Current Board Vacancies

The City of Neligh has three vacancies open and is looking for interested citizens to submit an application of interest. 


Park Board:

Members of the Park Board take immediate charge of all parks and recreational facilities belonging to the City.  The Board may establish appropriate rules and regulations for the management, use and operation.  Park Board meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the Neligh Council Chambers, with the exception of an occasional holiday falling on the first Monday.  Prior meetings have been held at 5:45P.M., which can be changed among the Board Members at an organizational meeting. 

The Park Board member will fill an unexpired term to December 2017, at which time may consider serving a full term of three years upon re-appointment.

Any register voter residing in the city limits may submit a written request to be appointed to such position for such unexpired term.  Written applications must be submitted to the City Office at 202 Main Street Neligh Nebraska prior to Monday, February 8, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. in order to be considered. 


Citizens Advisory Review Committee (CARC):

Members of the Citizens Advisory Review Committee review the functioning and progress of the Economic Development Plan and may perform other actions as prescribed by the plan adopted by the electors.  CARC meetings are held every 6 months in April and October.  Prior meetings have been held at 5:30P.M. or 6:00P.M., which can be changed among the committee members at an organizational meeting.

The Citizens Advisory Review Committee member will fill an unexpired term to May 2019, at which time may consider serving a full term of four years upon re-appointment.  No member shall be an elected or appointed municipal official, an employee of the City of Neligh, an official or employee of a qualifying business receiving financial assistance under the economic development program or an official or employee of a financial institution participating directly in the economic development program.

Any register voter residing in the city limits may submit a written request to be appointed to such position for such unexpired term.  Written applications must be submitted to the City Office at 202 Main Street Neligh Nebraska prior to Monday, February 8, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. in order to be considered.


Board of Adjustment:

Members of the Board of Adjustment hear and decide requests for building permit exceptions or variances upon which the Board is authorized to pass and to decide whether the exceptions or variances should be granted or denied when not in harmony with the zoning regulations.

Boards of Adjustment meetings are held Tuesday mornings at 7:30A.M. upon request for a variance.  The Board of Adjustment member will fill an unexpired term to June 2018, at which time may consider serving a full term of three years upon re-appointment.

Any resident in the city limits may submit a written request to be appointed to such position for such unexpired term.  Written applications must be submitted to the City Office at 202 Main Street Neligh Nebraska prior to Monday, February 8, 2016 at 5:00 P.M. in order to be considered.
