Cowboy Trail

The Cowboy Trail runs directly through Neligh and is one of Nebraska’s most unique recreational assets. As part of one of the longest rail-to-trail systems in the country, it connects communities across northern Nebraska along a scenic and historic corridor.

The trail is ideal for walking, biking, running, and horseback riding, offering a safe and accessible experience for all ages. Its gentle grade and crushed limestone surface make it a year-round amenity for both residents and visitors.


Riverside Park

Located along the Elkhorn River, Riverside Park serves as a central hub for recreation, camping, and community activity.

Amenities include:

  • RV and tent camping with electric and water hookups

  • Shower house, Wi-Fi access, and dump station

  • Swimming pool and seasonal programming

  • Playground areas and open green space

  • Direct access to the Antelope County Fairgrounds

Fred Penn Park

Fred Penn Park offers a quieter, more relaxed outdoor setting just off Highway 14.

Features include:

  • Camping sites with electric and water hookups

  • Sand volleyball courts

  • Fishing access along the river

  • Open space for recreation and gatherings

Neligh Swimming Pool

The Neligh swimming pool is a popular seasonal destination that adds to the community’s strong family-friendly environment.

Offerings include:

  • Open swim and family-friendly hours

  • Swimming lessons and water aerobics

  • Private party rentals

  • Affordable daily admission and seasonal passes

The Neligh pool is open when temperatures are above 70 degrees. The pool is open 7 days a week (during the season), 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m Monday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.  Family passes are available for $150 per season, and individual passes cost $80 per season.  Daily entry fees are $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for students, and $1.00 for children 4 and under.  Private and public swimming lessons, water aerobics, and pool parties are offered.  You can reach the pool at 402-929-8466.  Contact the pool manager to set up all your swimming needs!
