Neligh Park Foundation Inclusive Playground and Neligh Park Upgrades
In May 2024, a new 3-piece inclusive playground was installed in Riverside Park next to the Pavilion and picnic shelters. The new playground equipment provides all children with all physical abilities and mobilities with an opportunity to actively play together. Fundraising and grant applications are in motion for the final 4-piece inclusive playground equipment to complete the project.
In January 2026, the City of Neligh received notice of award of $210,000 from the Nebraska Game & Parks Land Water & Conservation Fund for four park amenities with two new features in Riverside Park and two new features in Russell Park. In Riverside Park the new amenities include the final 4-piece inclusive playground equipment and two new adjustable basketball hoops and fencing. In Russell Park the new amenities include a dog park with separate enclosures for small and large dogs and the second 9-hole frisbee (disc) golf course to complete an 18-hole course between the two parks. The City of Neligh is currently awaiting for a series of reviews as part of the grant process and anticipates seeking bids for the equipment and contract labor for fall 2026 or spring 2027.

The Neligh Community Center is a public venue that offers diverse programs, healthy-affordable meals, services, and activities that promote health, wellness, social connections, lifelong learning, and personal growth. By promoting engagement and collaboration, the Neligh Community Center plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being and cohesion of the neighborhood, as well as in helping older adults maintain an active, fulfilling lifestyle.
The community center needs a new HVAC system and is seeking resources to cover operational costs to ensure we can continue to provide valuable services and programs to the whole community.

The New Moon Community Theater is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enrich, educate, and entertain our community by providing a range of arts and theater experiences in a beloved historic landmark. Mission Statement "Save the New Moon Theater." We are committed to the acquisition, restoration and operation of the historic landmark theater in Antelope County.
