Neligh Municipal Power
Neligh Municipal Power has embarked into electric generation with the award winning and one-of-a-kind 6.5 megawatt Biodiesel Electric Generation Facility.
This allows us to be self sustaining during emergency situations by providing power to the entire town. The plant has also allowed the citizens of Neligh to skirt power price increases, somewhere around 18% in the last year and a half.
- Peak Demand: 4,784 kW - July, 2013
- Capacity: 5,000 kW ****
- Generation Capacity: 6.5 MW
- Consumers Serviced: 935
*** While Neligh is currently close to its 5 MW capacity, NPPD is in the process of constructing a 345,000 volt transmission line from Hoskins to a substation directly north of Neligh. This new line will open up significant capacity to Neligh Municipal Power. Visit NPPD's Site for more information on the project.
